Must Have Monday: Baby Mum-Mum

My baby is a foodie. She is following in her mama and Aunty Mo’s footsteps. We slowly introduced solid food in Baby A’s life. I knew she was ready the day she try to grab a gluten-free chicken nugget off my plate on spring night. After much research and consulting with both our naturopath physician and pediatrician I had a plan on what foods I was going to introduce when. A great resource I found is Wholesome Baby Food. This site has so many great ideas on feeding your baby and some great recipes if you choose to make your own baby food.
We started Baby A with rice cereal. She loved it and I enjoyed every moment observing her reactions to this new experience.
After a week, I knew that Baby A was ready for something different. We started with pears and the rest is history. I did stick with the 4 day rule of exposing her to a new food and waiting to make sure she did not have an allergic reaction. We already knew that she has a sensitivity to soy, dairy, and gluten and wanted to make sure that we understood how her body would react to different foods. Within the next month we introduced butternut squash (still her favorite), sweet potatoes (not a fan), green beans (likes), apples, bananas, and spinach (which she loves). It is truly a trial and error process. There are days I make my own food with the veggies I used for dinner. I do have a babycook that makes life much easier.
Now that Baby A is almost 9 months old she is at a stage where she wants to feed herself. She is so proud of herself when she is able to participate with us around the dinner table. Family dinner is important at our house and it is nice for the baby to be part of our conversations. I am a firm believer in modeling healthy habits and behaviors. A lot of great moments and memories happen around our dining room table.
Baby Mum Mum have helped Antonia merge into our dining experience. They are a perfect size for her little hands and makes her very happy.

This was Daijia and Tajiah just 3 years ago. I cannot wait to take a 2011 picture to see how much they have grown.
Mom on the Run will have some great guest bloggers while I am away. There are a few spots left so if you would like to be a guest blogger let me know and we can make it happen. Happy Monday ![]()
