My new favorite NYC lunch stop!(I loved this picture but more about this place in another blog)
I really wanted to cook a home cooked meal tonight because while I was away Dad on the Run made sure to load up on non-purification restaurants. The girls were in heaven
Last week I was sent an amazing samples package to try from Annie Chun’s All-Natural Asian Cuisine. They have launched a new line of Asian noodles and I was able to sample with a few tonight
A great package of noodles that my family loves!
What I love about Annie Chun’s products is that they are all natural and you don’t have to put much effort or time to create a healthy meal.
As Annie states herself:
“That’s the secret behind our Annie Chun’s sauces: all-natural ingredients, chosen with care and prepared in the style of my family’s favorite recipes. We use no preservatives, and our sauces are lower in sodium and fat, many are even completely fat-free.
They’re easy-to-use right from the bottle to create full-flavored noodle dishes (check out our wonderful line of Asian Noodles designed to go with them), stir-fries, and grilled meat, seafood poultry and vegetables.”
I dug out my Wok and whipped up a great Asian inspired meal in less than 30 minutes.
Sarah’s Quick Stir Fry
Ingredients:
Grape Seed Oil or any other high heat oil
1 pound of Stir Fry Beef or Chicken (I used both)
2 TBSP of Corn Starch
1 Bottle of Annie Chun’s Teriyaki Sauce
1 Box of Annie Chun’s Chow Mein Noodles
Stir Fry Veggies (I used fresh)
Fresh Ginger
2 Cloves of Garlic
I started by heating Grape Seed Oil in a hot Wok.
This is my Mom’s First Wok! It is over 20 years old and still work great!
I decided on a chicken and beef stir fry. I coated the meat with a few tablespoons of corn starch. I find that allows for meat to have a better texture while in the wok.
Once the Wok and oil are heated. Add the meat and allow to brown through for about 5-7 minutes. Add ginger and garlic to the cooking meat.
Once meats are browned remove from heat and set aside.
Next, add Veggies to wok and allow for them to cook through or to crunchy desire.
Whole Foods is a lifesaver on a busy night like tonight. Fresh cut veggies!
Once veggies are cooked through, add meat back to wok and let flavors mingle and add teriyaki sauce. Let wok simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens a bit.
While the wok mixture is simmering. prepare noodles according to package.
Add stir fry to the noodles and enjoy!
If you are looking for a highly quality Asian inspired product, Annie Chun’s is for you. The flavor of the sauce was amazing and just as tasty as many restaurants around my home. It was not too salty and did not need anything extra added to it. It was perfect the way it came. The other plus is that this dish is family friendly and wallet savvy. Daijia had 2 helpings which can be interpreted as YUMMY! Please visit the website for more Asian inspired dishes and other product info. Thanks again to Anja for providing me these samples to “play” with. I still have the pad tai to work with
I still have more to share about NYC and other great product finds to write about but my pillow is looking to good right now
Happy Monday!!

The Weekend Update: Mom Style Part 1

You know you had a great weekend when you are exhausted, full from amazing food, and sore from laughing so hard. That is only a tidbit into the amazing weekend I had with a group of ladies that are truly more special to me than they even know.
I have been extremely stressed out with my health concerns, changing my diet, work, and other regular stressors in life. This weekend could not have been planned better. I met four fellow bloggers and another one of our friends (who now is really interested in blogging) for a girl’s weekend get away in NYC. We were friends long before we were bloggers, but our group’s history could be a whole post in itself. The bloggers that I met up with were Food Snob(aka Mo Diva), LK from Healthy Delicious, Heather from A Healthier Me, Carol from Uncovering Food, and Emily (Blog coming soon). When you get us foodies together, especially in a culinary melting pot that NYC is, things could get dangerous.
We started out at one of Mo’s favorites Tu Casa, located in her Kew Garden neighborhood for some incredible Spanish eats. The menu had so many choices. We started with sweet plantain, or maduros and empanadas.
Empanadas with Tu Casa’s Special Green Sauce
Maduros (These were amazing)
I was so full from just eating these that I order a dish that was light but so satisfying.
Grilled Chicken, yellow rice, and salad. I was so full! I really want to bring my family back here because I think they would love it here.
We than walked around the city and do what we do best…find unique food finds.
Mom finds POM coffee drink….YUM!
Carol, Lauren, and I enjoying the train ride.
Well I am exhausted and I have so much more to say! I am going to leave you for now, but I will be back tomorrow for more NYC recap and a new recipe! Hope everyone had a great weekend and I will catch up with everybody during my lunch tomorrow!
